There is no city in the world as Monteriggioni! An original medieval fortress city so unique that it has been chosen as a backdrop for countless films and even the popular video game Assassin's Creed. The winery was founded in 1203 and its fortification began just ten years later with the construction of 11 towers still visible from the valley and just looking at them makes us go back in time: the city has not undergone any transformation from the fifteenth century! The next stop on the tour is San Gimignano: the Manhattan of the Middle Ages and one of the most picturesque towns of Tuscany; its characteristics that makes it most unique are its 14 towers (up to 50 meters high !!) built in the Middle Ages by the powerful families in the city to demonstrate their wealth and their successful commercial and military. In our day, we can still walk through the narrow alleys of the city, among the houses built in 1200, visit the Piazza Cisterna, the Romanesque Cathedral with its beautiful frescoes, the house of the Podesta, the People's Palace, the Church of Sant'Agostino and Finally, the Museum of Torture.
